A mindfulness of mind meditation.
As we meditate it is easy to see how difficult it is to let go of our thoughts when they grab us.
We grasp onto thoughts as if it is our responsibility to tend to each one as they cross our minds, regardless of whether they are useful or just creating a distraction, taking up space.
It is natural brain activity but we can learn to change this habit by bringing our awareness to it, questioning whether particular thoughts are useful in a moment and then deciding whether to direct our mind elsewhere.
