Kapalabhati Breath

A stimulating breath practice.  The short, sharp breaths lift the heart rate.  

Recommended if you wish to feel more awake/alert. Not recommended for times of high stress or anxiety.

Kapalabhati breathing, interspersed with calming breathing, which lifts and then lowers the heart rate repeatedly, could be used to help build up resilience to the stress response.

This is because having the ability to flick between the stress response and the relaxation response is an indicator of the health of our autonomic nervous system.

The more we do it the more robust we become to coping with stress. Again, not recommended for times of high stress and anxiety.
